The Shoreline League of Democratic Women (SLDW) will host a "Meet the Candidates Evening" featuring Democratic gubernatorial hopefuls on Oct.7, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Old Saybrook Democratic Headquarters (next to Thurstons women's apparel), Old Saybrook Shopping Plaza, Route 1, Old Saybrook. The event is free and open to the public. From 7 to 7:30 p.m., attendees will have an opportunity to socialize and meet Democratic gubernatorial hopefuls running for governor in 2010, including Jim Amann, the former speaker of Connecticut's House of Representatives, Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, State Senator Gary Lebeau and Connecticut's Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz.
